We aren't just a hair salon, we are a destination. Our stylists are experts in wiggle-management and high-quality kids' hair care.

From our iconic themed chairs like planes, ponies, and cars to the latest shows and movies, we’ve created an environment where every child leaves feeling like a star.

📸 Can I take photos or videos?

Absolutely. We love capturing those smiles. You’re more than welcome to take photos of your own child, and if you post them on social media, don’t forget to tag us.

🛒 Is there a place for my stroller?

Yes. All our locations are stroller-friendly. We just appreciate it when strollers can be tucked into designated areas so the runway stays clear for our little pilots and drivers.

We’ve designed our menu to match your child’s specific hair needs and your schedule.

  • The Classic Cut: Perfect for regular trims and keeping your child’s current style looking sharp.
  • The Transformation Cut: Best for thicker hair, major length changes, or technical styles like low fades that need more time and precision.
  • The Full Routine: Our most complete service, including a wash, precision cut, blow-dry, and Ultimate Glow upgrade.
Does every service come with a Glow option?

Yes. Every haircut service, except the Full Routine, comes with your choice of one complimentary Melon Glow option: temporary hair color spray, hair extension, glitter spray, or a fun hair accessory.

🧡 What is the Ultimate Glow?

The Ultimate Glow is for the child who wants the full sparkle.

It includes our signature Temporary Color Spray, Glitter Spray, and a Premium Hair Accessory.

It’s available as an upgrade to any haircut service or as a fun standalone visit for a quick style refresh.

👶 Do you offer First Haircut packages?

Absolutely. Please select the First Haircut Experience when booking. It includes a specialized cut, a commemorative certificate, and a keepsake lock of hair to help capture the memory.

🫶 How do I book for a child with sensory needs?

Please book our Sensory-Friendly Service. We provide a quieter environment and a stylist trained to work at your child’s pace, with scissors-only available upon request.

We work hard to ensure every child feels comfortable and supported.

Booking & Punctuality

📅 Do I need an appointment?

We highly recommend booking online so your child doesn’t have to wait. Walk-ins are always welcome, but peak times like evenings and weekends can have significant waits or no availability at all.

What happens if I’m running late for my appointment?

We run on a precise schedule to respect everyone’s time. If you arrive late, we’ll use the remaining time in your slot to do as much as we can.

If our stylist feels the service can’t be completed safely or to our standards in the time left, we’ll help you reschedule.

📋 What is your No-Show & Cancellation Policy?

Your appointment is reserved just for your child. If you need to cancel, please call your local shop and leave a voicemail or use our Contact Us form at least 24 hours in advance.

Please note: our online booking system does not allow cancellations.

  • Strike 1: A documented warning and reminder of the cancellation policy.
  • Strike 2: A $15 no-show fee added to your account.
  • Strike 3: Online pre-booking privileges are suspended and future bookings require a non-refundable deposit.

Health, Safety & General Information

🧼 What is your policy on lice?

To keep all our little guests safe, we cannot service any client with active lice or nits. Hair must be fully clear before returning for service.

💇 I am unhappy with my haircut, what do I do?

We want you to love your child’s hair. If you’re not satisfied, please call the store manager within 7 days of your visit and we’ll arrange a complimentary touch-up.

👶 What age should I bring my child in for their first haircut?

It depends on the child. Some come in at just a few weeks old, while others wait until age 4 or later. For children who are too young to sit on their own, we have regular salon chairs so baby can sit safely on a parent’s lap.

🎉 How old is “too old” for Melonhead?

You’re never too old. While we specialize in children, we welcome teens, moms, and dads too.

💲 How much does a haircut cost?

🧴 What products do you carry?

We carry our own exclusive line of shampoos and styling products developed by stylists and tested by moms. Our products are made in Canada and our tear-free options are designed with kids in mind.

↩️ What is your refund policy on retail products?

Unopened products can be returned or exchanged within 7 days of purchase with the original receipt.

For hygiene reasons, there are no refunds on hair accessories, opened haircare, nail polish, earrings, or books.

🎁 Do Melonhead gift cards expire?

No, our gift cards do not expire. They can be redeemed at the location of original purchase. Please keep them safe, as lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced.

🤝 Do you provide items for donations?

We support a number of local and national child-related charities through direct donations and coupons. If you’re part of a community group in Brampton, Thornhill, or Oakville, please contact us with the details and we’ll do our best to help.
